NIAAA is recruiting to fill Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer) vacancies in the Division of Neuroscience and Behavior (DNB) and the Division of Metabolism and Health Effects (DMHE). Program Officers advise the Institute on future scientific directions that encourage research in critical and emerging areas, develop targeted programs to foster innovative and high-impact research, interact with investigators in diverse scientific areas, assess the progress of awarded grants and contracts, and serve as an expert resource for the scientific community and the public. The incumbent for either the DNB or DMHE vacancies will provide technical leadership and guidance in basic and translational research areas to facilitate the understanding, treatment, and prevention of alcohol use disorder and alcohol-associated organ damage.
