Erika Janella Almira, B.A.

Biographical Summary

Erika Janella Almira joined the Clinical NeuroImaging Research Core in September 2019 after completing her studies in Psychology at California State University, Northridge. During her undergrad, Erika was doing research under BUILD PODER (an NIH-funded program) regarding memory and decision-making bias and the relationship between parenting and adolescent well-being. One of her research projects examined parenting behaviors that relate to two types of empathy development and how they may be related to three indicators of mental health. Following the completion of her fellowship at NIH, she plans to pursue a Master of Social Work.
