Biographical Summary

Josephin Wagner, MD, MSc joined CGET in September 2020. She earned her MD at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany and a MSc in Medical Biology at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Working as a researcher and a doctor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital in Zurich, she gained a broad background in neuroscience, with specific training and expertise in molecular changes on the microvascular level such as the blood brain barrier after hemorrhagic stroke. She is interested in understanding the pathophysiology and neurobiology of alcohol use disorder, studying neuroinflammation and therapeutics with epigenetic and pharmacological approaches. After her time as a postdoc, her goal is to become a board-certified psychiatrist.
