Biographical Summary

Mr. Rodrigo Ortiz is a second year Postbaccalaureate IRTA fellow that joined the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in September 2019 under the NIH Academy Enrichment Program with the Section of Sensory Science, & Metabolism (SenSMet) at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR). He was born and raised in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and in 2018, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences from University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (UPRP). Mr. Ortiz is collaborating with clinical research and data collection/analysis protocols. He is a member of the SACNAS chapter at the institute and as part of his future goals, he plans to study medicine. In his free time, Rodrigo likes to write poems, make music, and volunteer in different community service programs.
