NIH Will Host Two Online Briefings for AREA (R15) and SBIR/STTR Grant Applicants
The purpose of this notice is to inform NIH grant applicants, their mentors, and grant management officials about two online video briefings the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) will host in October 2017.
CSR is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific and technical merit.
Each Briefing Will Have a Different Focus
Getting Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA/R15) grants, which support meritorious research, expose undergraduate and graduate students to hands-on research, and strengthen the research environment of schools that have not been major recipients of NIH support.
Getting Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants, which support early-stage research technology commercialization in the United States.

Each briefing will include presentations by a CSR official and the NIH official who oversees the respective program. A 30-minute Q&A session will follow.
How to Participate in the Briefing
Go to www.csr.nih.gov/webinar to register for the briefing you wish to join. You will not need to download special software. You will need a reliable Internet connection and an up-to-date browser.
