Khushbu Agarwal, Ph.D.

Biographical Summary

Dr. Khushbu Agarwal earned her Bachelors and Masters in Biotechnology from universities in India. Received Ph.D. in NMR/MRI from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India in the year 2018. Her dissertation work was focused on “Magnetic resonance multiparametric approach for the study of breast cancer and its correlation with molecular biomarkers”. Currently as a visiting fellow in the SenSMet unit, she is working with Dr. Joseph’s group to study the link between brain function, genetics and behaviour in metabolic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and addiction. The focus is to understand the neural mechanisms underlying chemosensation in Obesity and SUD individuals. To address these questions neuroimaging techniques including fMRI, and PET are being used.
