Biographical Summary

I am interested in neurocircuitry involved in several characteristics of addictive disorders including motivation, reward seeking, and reward processing. I am currently using optogenetic techniques, electrophysiology, and behavioral paradigms to study neuroplasticity in reward centers of the brain with a specific interest in the medial septum. I am also using these methods to study a new behavior paradigm termed optogenetic intracranial self-stimulation (oICSS) to further investigate reward pathways.
