I am interested in using systems neuroscience approaches to study maladaptive motivated behaviors that manifest as neuropsychiatric conditions like depression and addiction. In the Lovinger lab, I am helping to design behavioral paradigms to model THC withdrawal symptoms in mice and am learning/using several techniques including ECoG/EMG sleep recordings, chemogenetics, in-vivo fiber photometry, and immunohistochemistry. After my postbaccalaureate studies I plan to enroll in a neuroscience doctorate program to continue my research on neural mechanisms of motivated behavior.
