Biographical Summary

Shin Y. Kim, MPH, is the team lead for the Prenatal Substance Exposure Surveillance and Research Team in the Infant Outcomes Monitoring, Research, and Prevention Branch in the Division of Birth Defects and Infant Disorders at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her major research topic areas of interest include prenatal substance use, maternal and infant linkages, surveillance, and gestational related obesity, weight, and nutrition. Ms. Kim has published several manuscripts related to prenatal substance use, data quality, gestational diabetes mellitus, and maternal overweight and obesity. Ms. Kim previously worked with the Division of Reproductive Health. She received both her BA degree in Sociology and MPH degree in International Health from Emory University.
